Welcome to Abstractions Art, featuring the original contemporary abstract paintings of Colorado artist Ron Kempton.
After years away from the public eye, Ron Kempton has returned to the studio with a remarkable new body of work. His paintings combine bold color, rich texture, expressive movement, and thoughtful composition to create distinctive works that become the focal point of a room.
Every painting is an original—created by hand and designed to be lived with for generations. Whether you are an established collector, purchasing your first original artwork, or selecting a statement piece for a luxury residence or commercial space, Ron Kempton’s paintings offer a timeless contemporary aesthetic that complements modern, transitional, and sophisticated interiors.
Based in Colorado, we proudly work with private collectors, interior designers, and design professionals throughout the United States. We invite you to explore the collection and discover original abstract artwork that brings depth, energy, and lasting beauty to your space.
Collecting Original Abstract Art
Collecting original artwork is about more than decoration—it is about choosing pieces that shape how a space feels and communicates.
Ron Kempton’s paintings are created with this in mind. Each work is intended to stand on its own as a focal point, bringing energy, depth, and atmosphere to a room.
Whether placed in a private residence, office, or curated interior project, his work is designed to integrate with space while maintaining its own identity.

Sustainability & Creative Rebirth
The traditional art world can often be surprisingly wasteful, but we believe in a more intentional, cyclical approach to creation. At Abstractions Art, sustainability isn’t just a practice—it’s woven directly into the texture of the work.
Ron frequently breathes new life into discarded materials, integrating everything from vintage book pages and magazines to salvaged frames and forgotten canvases into his pieces. Many of our works are layered with history, featuring older paintings buried beneath the surface to create a rich, tactile depth reminiscent of ancient artifacts. By reclaiming and repurposing what might otherwise end up in a landfill, we not only reduce our environmental footprint but also keep our production overhead low. This allows us to pass those savings directly to you, making authentic, high-quality contemporary art entirely accessible without the inflated gallery price tag.
Palimpsest
You may occasionally notice crossed-out titles, dates, or inventory numbers on the back of our artwork. In the fine art world, this is known as a palimpsest—a piece of history where an earlier layer of work has been painted over to make way for something new.
We often reclaim and repaint canvases and other items, allowing the energy of a past piece to inform the foundation of the next. Rather than hiding this history, we leave these marks on the wood as a testament to the artwork’s journey and the evolution of the creative process. Every mark tells a story.
